Pond & Lake Construction
Acrefield are in the business of excavating and lining ponds and lakes of all shapes and sizes from a few hundred square metres up to hectares.
We have a proven track record over the last 20 years of building and refurbishing lakes and ponds.
Whether you need a complete lake design and construction service, or advice on individual aspects of a project, Acrefield Solutions can help, we have a proven track record over the last 20 years of building and refurbishing lakes and ponds.
Our lake/ pond liners can be produced to any size and specification. Lakes and ponds are a beautiful aquatic resource that not only offers visual and entertainment appeal, but also serves as habitat for numerous forms of wildlife. Preserving these natural and man made resources is a worthwhile endeavor.
Being specialists in conservation and civil engineering, we can also advise on the most suitable membrane and protection required, both above and below the water. We can also suggest methods for vegetating the edges to minimise erosion by wave action, fauna (vermin or large birds), or by human traffic as well as the creation of fish refuges and wildlife habitats.
We use modern lining techniques to install liners, e.g. Bentoline GCL and a variety of geo-membranes ensuring that the lakes and ponds we build are watertight.
Liners include

LLDPE
LLDPE Liner series meets all the requirements of the internationally recognized GRI GM-17 standard for LLDPE geomembrane liners. This series of geomembrane liners offers even better flexibility and stress crack resistance than HDPE geomembranes.

HDPE
HDPE Liner series meets or exceeds all the requirements of the internationally recognized GRI GM-13 standard for HDPE geomembrane liners. This series of geomembrane liners offers the best performance at the most competitive prices on the market.

PP
Flexible Polypropylene Alloy (FPA). Combining the advantages of polypropylene (PP) with those of ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) to create a highly flexible membrane with excellent heat-weldable attributes.

Bentonite Geosynthetic Clay Liners
Bentoline is a Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL). It is an innovative composite product manufactured using the naturally occurring Bentonite clay resource. The powdered Bentonite clay is sandwiched between a woven and non-woven geotextile, resulting in a very strong robust product.
We offer the full package of excavation, lining and landscaping and as we have our own aquatic nursery with pre-grown aquatic plants, this enables us to complete the lake or pond with planted margins. Using pre-established coir pallets and coir rolls enables the pond or lake margins to form a mature stand of vegetation offering a pleasing aesthetic finish and a valued habitat.
After a visit to your property for a free consultation, we can discuss and assess the potential lake/pond build or refurbishment, Acrefield will then provide a full written quotation for the works discussed; from full turn-key projects through to supplying membrane panels for self-installation, we can provide the services required.
For the most effective way of ensuring a perfect fit for the liner we recommend that the lake is excavated and then accurately measured – either by your engineer/contractor or Acrefield Solutions. The chosen liner can then be installed in-situ with on-site welding/taping, or made up into larger pieces off-site to eliminate lengthy site works.

Flexline
Flexible Polypropylene Alloy (FPA). Combining the advantages of polypropylene (PP) with those of ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) to create a highly flexible membrane with excellent heat-weldable attributes.

Tuffline
Strong yet pliable polyethylene geomembrane.

Hardline
For economy and durability, a basic high density polyethylene (HDPE) membrane provides a complete seal against most toxic substances.

Bentonite Geosynthetic Clay Liners
Three geosynthetic clay liners - a specialist product range comprising 'Bentoline' and 'Bentoline CL'.

Lake & Pond Lining
A comprehensive range for liquid containment

Geotextiles
Both woven and non-woven. As protectors, reinforcement/ separators and filters.
